Classifications
Support at Home is Australia's in-home aged care program, which replaced the old Home Care Packages system in November 2025. Instead of the previous four package levels, it now uses eight classifications, each matched to how much day-to-day help a person needs to stay safe and independent at home. Classification 1 suits older Australians who are mostly independent and need only occasional help — a bit of cleaning or transport to appointments — while Classification 8 is for people with complex, high-level needs, including end-of-life care.
